The Armor of God

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Ephesians 6:10-17

Snow in Central Kentucky

We had a little snow in central Kentucky yesterday. It was nice to see, but the high winds and low temperatures were not much fun. I did some volunteer work last night at the Kentucky Horse Park for Southern Lights. It was good to see all of the visitors, who braved the weather, enjoying the Christmas festivities. The scene above was an image I took a few years back, but it looks similar to what we had here in Kentucky yesterday. Everyone stay safe and Happy Trails.

The Law of Our General Nature

“If once the people become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, Judges and Governors, shall all become wolves. It seems to be the law of our general nature, in spite of individual exceptions.”

July 4, 2012

Happy 4th of July birthday, America! We are still "the land of the free and home of the brave" even though our duly elected government wants to take more & more of our freedoms away "for our own good". Remember to vote in this fall's elections based on your convictions for this wonderful country.
Also remember to "Serve the Lord with gladness". We have a long heritage of moral standards that we need to follow. It is tempting to "do our own thing" but it is not always right, or good, for our own soul or that of our fellow man. The Bible has so much to offer to guide us in this world. We just need to listen to what it says.
