RIDERS IN THE SKY

Howdy! Headin' to the Riders in the Sky concert at the Kentucky Theater in Lexington, Kentucky tomorrow night. There are 4 of us going to the concert. This is my third time. Riders in the Sky just celebrated their 30th anniversary. If you don't know anything about the group, check out their website at http://www.ridersinthesky.com/ . Be sure to have your audio turned up to hear some of their songs. They are a lot of fun for the entire family if you ever get a chance to see them in person.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Just ten days before Christmas and I don't know about you, but I'm not ready. Everything seems to move too fast these days. Nevertheless, we need to stop and reflect on the real meaning of Christmas. I hope that you do.

GOD IS A REFUGE IN TROUBLE

"I cried unto the Lord with my voice; with my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication. I poured out my complaint before Him; I shewed before Him my trouble. When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then Thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me. I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. I cried unto Thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living. Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I. Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise Thy name; the righteous shall compass me about; for Thou shalt deal bountifully with me."
Psalm 142

HANUKKAH, THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS

Happy Hanukkah to all of our Jewish visitors and friends for December 5, 2007. Hanukkah, or the Festival of Lights, commemorates the re-dedication of the Temple in Jerusalem ca 165 BC by the Maccabees after their victory over the Syrians and Antiochus IV Epiphanes.
