THE LORD IS NOT SLACK

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promises, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 11 Peter 3:9

THINGS TO PONDER

There was a certain person whose heart's desire for nearly 40 years was to depart and be with the Lord.

Yet his Lord had chosen to stand in a particular spot in the midst of the battle and commanded His servant to stand with Him.

The Lord asked His servant: "How much do you love Me? Do you love Me enough to stand firm with Me in the battle? Do you trust My ways and My timing? Will you be obedient to Me?"

With the battle raging, will the servant desert his Lord and head for base camp? Or does he truly love and trust his Lord enough to stand with Him?

How much do any who say they believe in the Lord truly trust and love Him enough to obey Him in any situation in this world? Will they set aside concern for self to stand firm with the Lord of all creation?

"If ye love Me, keep My commandments." John 14:15

EVEN THE YOUTHS SHALL FAINT

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31

A PSALM OF DAVID/A PRAYER FOR GUIDANCE

"Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in Thy faithfulness answer me, and in Thy righteous. And enter not into judgement with Thy servant: for in Thy sight shall no man living be justified. For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate. I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Thy works; I muse on the work of Thy hands. I stretch forth my hands unto Thee; my soul thirsteth after Thee, as a thirty land. Selah. Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not Thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit. Cause me to hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in Thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto Thee. Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto Thee to hide me. Teach me to do Thy will; for Thou art my God: Thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. Quicken me, O Lord, for Thy name's sake: for Thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble. And of Thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am Thy Servant." Psalm 143
