RIDERS IN THE SKY

Several of us went to the Riders in the Sky concert @ the Kentucky Theater last night. The Riders just celebrated their 31st anniversary. I don't know how many times they have been to Lexington, but it was my 4th straight year to see them. They do a mix of western, Christmas, and humorous songs. The audience always has a lot of fun. If you like country western music at all, go see them if you get a chance. If you visit their site, be sure to have your audio on.

HE WHO LOVES GOD MUST LOVE HIS BROTHER ALSO

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love Him, because He first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from Him, That he who loveth God love his brother also."
1 John 4:18-21

FOWLS OF THE AIR

"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?"
Matthew 6:26

THE LORD IS NOT SLACK

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promises, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 11 Peter 3:9

THINGS TO PONDER

There was a certain person whose heart's desire for nearly 40 years was to depart and be with the Lord.

Yet his Lord had chosen to stand in a particular spot in the midst of the battle and commanded His servant to stand with Him.

The Lord asked His servant: "How much do you love Me? Do you love Me enough to stand firm with Me in the battle? Do you trust My ways and My timing? Will you be obedient to Me?"

With the battle raging, will the servant desert his Lord and head for base camp? Or does he truly love and trust his Lord enough to stand with Him?

How much do any who say they believe in the Lord truly trust and love Him enough to obey Him in any situation in this world? Will they set aside concern for self to stand firm with the Lord of all creation?

"If ye love Me, keep My commandments." John 14:15

EVEN THE YOUTHS SHALL FAINT

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31

A PSALM OF DAVID/A PRAYER FOR GUIDANCE

"Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in Thy faithfulness answer me, and in Thy righteous. And enter not into judgement with Thy servant: for in Thy sight shall no man living be justified. For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate. I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Thy works; I muse on the work of Thy hands. I stretch forth my hands unto Thee; my soul thirsteth after Thee, as a thirty land. Selah. Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not Thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit. Cause me to hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in Thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto Thee. Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto Thee to hide me. Teach me to do Thy will; for Thou art my God: Thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. Quicken me, O Lord, for Thy name's sake: for Thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble. And of Thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am Thy Servant." Psalm 143

DENNY & SPANKY AT RUPP ARENA

Denny Chapman & Spanky entertained for the Lexington Horsemen indoor football game on May 31, 2008 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky. They opened the game as pictured here as they had for several years before moving to Florida. Denny also demonstrated cowboy mounted shooting at halftime. Click on
http://www.youtube.com/user/cmsa1562 to see Denny & Spanky entertaining the crowd. The duo has performed for Horsemen games many times over the years. This, however, was their 1st appearance in 2 years after their Wild West Entertainment Company relocated to Ocala, FL. Many people commented how glad they were to see them back at Rupp Arena, even if just for a short visit. Several said that the duo always added an extra touch of excitement to the football games. A number of people came out after the performance to meet the guys and get autographed photos. Check out http://www.dennychapman.blogspot.com/ for more pics and info. There were about 5,000 fans in attendance for the game. A side note: The Corner Stone Cowboy was privileged to be a small part of WWEC's crew for the performance.

THE CORNER STONE COWBOY GOES INTERNATIONAL

Howdy all! OK, I don't like most pics of myself, but here is one that is not too bad. This is me showing my friend Tattoo how to crack an American bull whip. Tattoo is a co-owner of the Japanese bakery, JTan, next door to our shop, The Corner Stone. We are out behind the stores practicing with the whips. One of Tattoo's co-workers took this photo a few weeks ago and he just now got it posted to his blog back home in Tokyo. It is rough being next door to a bakery with all of those smells coming through the walls, but somebody has to do it. :-) I think the Corner Stone Cowboy is up to the task. Happy Trails.......
