JOHN OLIVER CABIN IN CADES COVE

This cabin is the oldest log home in Cades Cove. It was built in the early 1820's. The cabin is the first historic building you seen when entering Cades Cove. The cove is a beautiful valley located in the Smoky Mountains National Park. There is an 11 mile loop road around the valley where many historic structures have been preserved. Deer and wild turkey can been seen in the early morning hours. Sometimes even a black bear or two will show up. Bicyclists can enjoy the loop, but the traffic can be pretty heavy at times. The valley is about 25 to 30 miles from Gatlinburg, TN.

Hi,
I have spent most of my married years in the Smokies and think that Cades Cove is heaven on earth. Such a wonderful place.
