On this 1^st day of October 2013, our USA government has entered into a partial shutdown. It is unfortunate that our national leaders presumably do not study American history. If they did, then surely they would have learned about Kentucky and USA statesman, Henry Clay, the Great Compromiser. In his nearly 50 years of tireless service to this country, he played a major role in diverting America away from civil war.  May our US leaders learn from the past in an effort to avoid repeating its mistakes.
